Deep-fried or grilled, baked or battered, new or classic, the Fair is full of delicious treats worth tasting.
Chicken Charlie, creative as ever, is back with his usual trove of deep-fried frog legs, Kool Aid, Oreos and the newest of the bunch: cereal and cookie dough. Also make sure to try his newly debuted Pineapple Express—shrimp and white rice served in a pineapple!
Guests with heartier appetites can try our Big Rib, a 17-inch bone covered in juicy, tender rib or perhaps a 10-pound Buns sandwich while those on a health kick can fill up on gluten-free Tasti Chips, smoothies and salads. Our newest items include the refreshing Monte Cristo sandwich, fresh made taffy and the tangy lemon and lime cheesecake in an edible dough cone.
For many, the Fair is all about tradition and that includes the food. Whether it’s the funnel cakes, Hot Dog on a Stick or frozen lemonade that brings back the memories, we have them all.
From Hawaii to New Orleans, a little bit of each are blended in with the rest of the traditional goodies. Big Kona Huna Shaved Ice is the perfect way to cool down with over 20 flavors to choose from. Creole food fans will be pleased by the fresh catfish and crawfish offered up at Harold & Belle's to Geaux.
Top of the Park
Enjoy an elegant surf and turf meal while watching the ponies run from the Top of the Park restaurant! Located atop the horse racing grandstand, Top of the Park provides upscale, full-service dining with breathtaking views of the Fair and the racetrack. Seating is available indoors or outside on the Top of the Park terrace. Top of the Park is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the Fair. Reservations are available and recommended for all Fair restaurants.
